It's the Ski Season. You are ready to hit the slopes, but you don't know what to buy for your chair lift snack. What about an easy lunch? We found all the snacks that rated highest amongst other skiiers/snowboarders and were mentioned just about everywhere we looked.

So no worries about that shopping list. We are here to tell you the most tried and true, widely agreed on snacks to keep you fueled and loving life as you carve your way down the slopes.

  1. Granola Bars

Just about everyone agrees... granola bars give you the nutritional boost you need, while coming in a small package. Trail mix was rated pretty high, but theres nothing as easy as having a granola bar readily accessible for that day getting lost out in the powder. Whether you make your own or go store bought, granola bars are a timeless ski snack.

  1. Peanut Butter Sandwich

Who doesn't love a good old classic peanut butter sandwich. It stands the test of time, tastes just as good squished as normal and doesn't take much space at all. It packs protien with every bite and that helps keep you going. People were both happy with homeade sandwiches, and Uncrustables. Peanut butter sandwiches stay easy to eat while frozen. If you aren't a big fan of peanut butter, or are allergic there's always almond butter, cashew butter, and even more diverse options.

If you don't have the space... skiers/boarders loved peanut butter sandwich crackers just as well as the full sandwich.

  1. Beef Jerky

Jerky is another protien packed, easily transportable item. A great point that can be made for beef jerky is that it's already hard before being being frozen and smushed. In that way it doesn't seem much different eating it at a lake day in the heat of summer, or on a snow capped mountain in the midst of the ski season. It is a great salty alternative to the otherwise sweet items on this list.

  1. Cheese

Have you ever packed cheese in your bag to find it got warm and a little undesirable throughout the day? Well not to fear, when you are skiing it's like living in a refrigerator, which makes cheese an ideal snack for the slopes. Not only is it another salty option to counter balance the sweet, cheese is loaded with protein, fat, calcium and phosphorus. So who's to say that the reason you didn't break a bone on that yard sale wasn't because of the cheese you snacked on moments before.

Plus ask the Swiss all about it, they have some of the best mountains in the world and they support cheese as a skiing snack so much that they had a cheese suit made for the olympics.

  1. Chocolate

Last but certainly not least, who could resist a little bit of chocolate on the mountains. What more could a person need than the best views and a little chocolate. This was a highly popular opinion, and not just because everyone loves chocolate, but similar to cheese, it will never melt on you as you go on runs.

And if you aren't much of a candy person... don't forget that there are many ways to consume your chocolate including in the form of hot chocolate, or cookies.

Together we ride!

As a late to the game ski enthusiast, who picked it up later on while working at a ski resort in college, I found I love to chill down the slopes

Meanwhile my husband likes to jump off cliffs and always counts down the days to ski season. We've found joy, friendship, and long lasting memories out on those snowy hills.

At CARVE CULTURE we love to help others do the same no matter their background.
